Product listings that do the selling for you

Your products are the reason anyone visits. We set up, write and manage Shopify catalogues for UK retailers so every listing answers the questions a customer would ask in store, and every collection helps them find the right thing faster.

  • Catalogue setup and bulk uploads
  • Content that answers real buying questions
  • Ongoing listing management

A catalogue is a sales tool, not a stock list

Most Shopify catalogues are built in a hurry. Products get uploaded from a supplier feed or an old spreadsheet, titles come through in capitals, descriptions are copied from the box, and the collections are whatever the theme had by default. It works, in that people can technically buy things. It does not sell.

A good catalogue does three jobs at once. It helps people narrow hundreds of products down to the three worth comparing. It answers the questions that would otherwise stop them buying. And it feeds Google, so the right product page turns up when someone searches for what you sell. We build catalogues to do all three, from a blank store or by rescuing one that has grown messy.

Structure first: collections people can actually shop

Before we touch a single product, we work out how your customers think about what you sell. A garden building retailer's customers shop by size and use. A clothing retailer's customers shop by occasion, fit and season. The collection structure has to match the customer's head, not your supplier's price list.

  • A collection map that mirrors how people browse, with no dead ends and no collection holding two lonely products
  • Automated collections driven by tags and metafields, so new products land in the right places without anyone remembering to add them
  • Filters on collection pages that use the attributes customers shop by: size, colour, material, price, delivery time
  • Merchandising rules so best sellers, high-margin lines and new arrivals sit where they earn the most

Product content that answers the buying questions

Every product page has a list of questions standing between the visitor and the add-to-basket button. Will it fit? What is it made of? How long will it take to arrive? Can I return it? What is the difference between this one and the one next to it? If the page does not answer them, the customer either emails you, which costs you time, or leaves, which costs you the sale.

We write product content around those questions. Plain, specific, in your brand's voice, with the facts where people look for them. Specifications in a table rather than buried in a paragraph. Delivery and returns on the page, not three clicks away. Comparison notes where products are easily confused. And where a product needs a buying guide to sell it, we write the guide and link it from the listing.

Variants and metafields, done properly

Variants are where catalogues quietly go wrong. Options that should be one product end up as six separate listings, or one product carries forty variants nobody can pick through. We set up options, variants and pricing so the product page stays simple and the stock stays accurate. Metafields then carry the structured detail (dimensions, materials, care instructions, compatibility, lead times) so it displays consistently, powers the filters and can be sent straight to Google Shopping without anyone retyping it.

Imagery that meets a standard

Photography sells more than copy on most product pages, and inconsistent photography undoes good copy. We set imagery standards for your catalogue: which angles every product needs, a consistent background and crop, lifestyle shots where they help and scale shots where size is a worry. Then we process, name, compress and upload the images so the pages load fast and look like they belong to the same shop. If your photos are not up to it, we will tell you, and help you brief a shoot.

Google Shopping feed setup

If you sell physical products, Google Shopping is one of the cheapest shelves you can be on, and free listings mean you do not need to be running ads to benefit. We set up the Google channel, build a feed that passes Merchant Center's checks first time, and map your product data (product barcodes or GTINs, brand, condition, shipping, availability) so disapprovals do not quietly hide half your catalogue. When you are ready for paid Shopping campaigns, the feed is already in shape.

Bulk uploads and ongoing listing management

Most agencies will not do this part: we will do the listings for you, as a service. Send us the spreadsheet and the photos, and we turn them into finished, live product pages. New season ranges, supplier catalogue updates, price changes across a thousand SKUs, discontinued lines that need tidying away and redirecting. We handle it.

  • Bulk product uploads from a spreadsheet, supplier feed or EPOS export, cleaned and standardised first
  • New product listings written, brought up to the imagery standard, and published on your schedule
  • Seasonal merchandising: collection refreshes, homepage features, sale setups and the tidy-up afterwards
  • Ongoing catalogue hygiene: duplicate products, broken images, missing data, orphaned collections
  • Everything tracked in hours you can see, under a care plan or on a fixed quote per batch

For retailers with a large or fast-moving catalogue, this is often the most useful thing we do. Your team stays on buying and customers; we keep the shelves stocked and tidy.

Who this is for

UK retailers with more products than time. If your catalogue runs to a few hundred SKUs or more, if it grew by accident rather than by design, or if you are launching a new range and dreading the upload, this is the service for you. It also suits retailers who have just migrated to Shopify and found the products came across but the quality did not.

Questions we get asked

Can you list our products if all we have is a spreadsheet and a folder of photos?

Yes, and that is the usual starting point. We clean and standardise the spreadsheet, match the photos to the products, write or tidy the descriptions, and upload everything in bulk. You review the result on a hidden collection before anything goes live.

Do you write the product descriptions or do we?

Either works. If you have people who know the products inside out, we give them a template and a short style guide and edit what comes back. If you would rather hand it over, we write them, working from your existing content, supplier data and a conversation with whoever answers customer questions.

How many products can you handle?

From a few dozen to tens of thousands. Small catalogues get hand-finished product by product. Large ones go through a cleaning and mapping process first so the bulk upload is right the first time, then the hand-finishing goes on your best sellers, where it pays back fastest.

We do not run Google ads. Is a Shopping feed still worth setting up?

Usually, yes. Google shows free product listings in the Shopping tab and in some search results, and a clean, approved feed is what gets you there. It also means that if you decide to run Shopping campaigns later, the feed is already in place and the campaign can start on day one.

Can you keep our listings up to date every week?

That is exactly what ongoing listing management is for. You send us new lines, price changes and stock updates; we publish them, keep the collections tidy and flag anything that looks wrong. Hours are tracked and visible on your care plan, so you always know what you are paying for.
